Packing
Day one of vacation! We spent all of 12/21 packing for our trip, which I was pretty nervous for to be honest. Our friend Nikita had the idea for us to blog how we went about packing since, for a long trip like this, it can be kind of daunting.
We are technically traveling through 3 different climates - winter on the main island of Japan, mild temperatures (think spring time) on the island of Okinawa, and summer in Australia for the Australian Open. This definitely made it a bit burdensome to pack. The other thing we're trying to keep in mind is that we definitely want to shop in Japan, so I think that’s reduced our stress a bit with packing.
For me, Saachi, I focused mainly on packing layers for the cooler cities. I do have a few sweaters (which annoyingly took up quite a bit of suitcase space), which I’m hoping to use to layer in all parts of Japan. Part of the layers are just some tshirts that will probably get reused in Australia’s warmer weather. On top of that, for Australia I also packed dresses since it’s just one additional piece to add. I’m also only taking 2 pairs of shoes! One that’ll be on feet the whole time while we walk and explore and then one for the gym (if that ends up happening lol). I don’t have anything too fancy packed, but I’m comfortable shopping there for something nicer if I want it for a more upscale evening.
For Chris, he did pack a big puffy jacket for the cooler climates, but other than that, just a few sets of pants and tshirts. Then, just shorts for Australia and one pair of shoes that should go with everything.
Overall, we’re taking 2 check in suitcases, 2 carry ons, and 2 backpacks. We haven’t filled all the space because we want to bring stuff back!
Enjoy & have loads of fun . Sounds exciting 🌷❣️
